The garden areas surrounding the Flamingo Pool are called the wildlife habitat and feature waterfalls, fountains and more than 300 birds (Chilean flamingos of course, parrots, Impeyn, swans, Mandarin ducks, Gambel's quail, silver pheasants, two ibis, a crown crane and African penguins), Koi fish and turtles. They feed the penguins smelt, capelin, herring and vitamins around 8:30 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon. The gardens and lawn area may be reserved for outdoor weddings. The 15 acre pool and Wildlife Habitat and gardens sit where the old 2 story motel rooms and Benjamin Bugsy Siegel's private suite used to be. So in honor of that, there is a memorial plaque.This is a wonderful place to take a stroll and a great place to take your prom picture. They hold an Octoberfest and a Winter Wonderland here each year. The gardens may be reserved for outdoor weddings.
