Mondo Las Vegas:
More about The Swimming Pool at the Flamingo Hilton Hotel:Although it is NOT the same pool as the original Flamingo pool area has been radically redone into a 15 acre pool and wildlife habitat, this IS where Elvis and Ann-Margret sang "The Lady Loves Me" by the original pool in "Viva Las Vegas."Now there are four pools including tanning ledges, a shallow kiddie pool and an upper pool which is heated to 80 degrees. During summer you can practically slide from pool to pool with all the water slides. There is also a playboy mansion-esqe grotto. The Flamingo Beach Club Café is open during normal swimming season and a there is a poolside shop for beach accessories and poolside necessities. The surrounding garden areas called the wildlife habitat features waterfalls, fountains, flamingos, swans, turtles and penguin (feeding is around 3 in the afternoon). The gardens may be reserved for outdoor weddings. The wildlife habitat and gardens sit where the old 2 story motel rooms and Benjamin Bugsy Siegel's private sutie used to be. So in honor of that, there is a memorial plaque. The Flamingo is one of the few large hotels left to still offer tennis courts along with their pool and a pro-shop for tennis players with tennis lessons.
