Caesars Palace was home to many of Evil Knieval's daring motorcycle stunts including his most famous crash on New Year's Day 1968. Evil Knievel tried to fly his bike across the front fountain. It was 151 feet across and he actually made it until after the landing. The whole thing was televised and as onlookers watched hm tumble over and over. He fractured his hip, shattered his pelvis, and smashed his right femur. He was in a coma for 30 days and doctors had to rebuild his leg with a two foot long by three inch wide piece of steel.Listed under:
