Mondo Las Vegas:
More about Dive! at the Fashion Show Mall:A restaurant produced by Steven Spielberg and his pals (Jeffrey Katzenberg and the Levy Corporation). It looked like big yellow submarine from the outside and inside as well with round porthole windows filled with moving bubbles and video screens of the underwater world of Atlantis and fish passing you by as you ate gourmet submarine sandwiches. Every now and then the red lights would flare and the speakers would say "Dive. Dive." And the video screens would fill with bubbles.. It was a complete immersive experience, plus the food was really good. The interior concept design by architect Joe Meisel included catwalks, submarine pressure gauges and sonar screens and periscopes where you could pan and zoom and spy on people outside on the Strip The restaurant was demo'd to make way for the expansion of the Fashion Show and the introduction of the Cloud. The first Dive opened in 1994 at the Century City Shopping Center in Los Angeles, CA, but it too now is gone.
