More about Castaways Hotel and Casino & Bowling Center:The Castaways was formerly the Showboat from 1954 and featured a well liked bowling center. the Showboat originate bowling alleys in Las Vegas and the "All you can Eat" buffet. As you can imagine - it was very popular with locals. But times change... You could see the remnants of the old showboat hotel right up until the day they demolished it. It was once owned by Howard Hughes.Before the Castaways took over the Showboat property on Boulder Highway, it occupied a piece of land on the strip at 3320 Las vegas Blvd. where the old Sans Souci stood and roughly where the Mirage and Treasure Island is today.
