Mondo Las Vegas:
More about Aladdin:Built in 2000 on the site of the 1963 Talley Ho Motel and the 1966 Aladdin. The original Alladin was built in 1966. The architectural facade was designed by Lee Linton who also worked with Wayne McAllister on other Vegas projects. And Milton Prell the owner/developer also took credit as a consulting architect. It is nice that when they went to rebuild the hotel, the design makes nice homage to the original structure. The original 1966 magic lamp sign by artist Hermon Boernge can be viewed downtown later in our tour. There is also a burger joint that has a tiki theme called "Cheeseburger at Oasis." *** Elvis Trivia! After planning a wedding at Colonal Parker's home in Palm Springs (1350 Ladera Circle by William Krisel and Alexander homes 1962), and gossip columnist neighbor Rona Barrett got wind of it, Elvis and Priscilla ran off to Vegas and were wed at the Aladdin in 1967. They went back to the home now known as the Elvis Honeymoon hideaway!
