Las Vegas Shows

The information on this website was accurate when it was published, but can change without notice. Please be sure to confirm all rates and details directly with the companies in question before planning your trip. Some advice before you go to any of the Las Vegas shows.
  1. Get yourself one of the magazines that are available for free throughout Las Vegas, i.e. "What's On". They are full of coupons for certain shows. That can cut your bill by quite a bit.
  2. Learn about the Tickets for Tonight booths around town for last minute half off tickets to certain shows.
  3. Don't order mixed drinks at the showrooms - most are water and ice. Order bottled beer for your best deal.
  4. likewise, order wine in full corked bottles if you can.
  5. Most of the shows have assigned seating so there is no need to stand in a silly line. And you do not need to slip the Maitre d' a twenty to get a good seat. Although you should always be pleasant to these people in case you need to move your seats.
  6. Before you get comfortable make yourself familiar with the emergency exits.
  7. SHOWS CHANGE OFTEN. CALL BEFORE YOU GO.

Beat the Summer Heat

  • Remember Las Vegas is for the most part a 24 town. Stay inside in the air conditioning or better yet, sleep the day away and then party all night.

Driving vs. Flying

  • For your first few trips, to Las Vegas, you really don't need a car. Spend your time on the strip and downtown and do all the tourist things first. Between the "Deuce" Bus on the strip, the monorails, taxis and your own two feet, you'll find plenty of things to do within a short distance.
  • But once you've hung out in Vegas a few times, you'll want to get to know her a little more intimately, so drive or rent a car. For most of the insider, cool stuff here on Mondo-Vegas.com, you pretty much need wheels to get around.
  • If you're coming from L.A. I always say drive. Drive during off hours - never leave for Vegas on a Friday afternoon / early evening and never leave for Los Angeles on a Sunday afternoon.
  • The drive during normal slow hours is roughly 4 hours. And if you figure you have to get to the airport an hour before your flight and the flight is a little over an hour - your total fly time is roughly 2.5 hours. You only gain an hour and half from flying - and then you don't have a car. AND you miss getting a milk shake at Peggy Sues or fresh baklava at the Mad Greek!
